A Glimpse of The Hajj

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Being called upon, being summoned, given the chance to perform the Hajj, not because you have the ability, not because you're special, not because you feel it's time to go, not because people go then you must go, but purely the will of Allah that had chosen you to go. To be His guest in the Blessed Holy Land is the most enchanting moment for anyone, in fact it could not be described in words.
Some waited for 40 years, some 50, some 60 even 70 years for it, and some could not even make it in life. You're joining millions of people in obedience and submission to Islam, you're levitating the status of Kaabah. It could be years of preparations physically and mentally. The journey itself and all the experiences encountered is unique to every person, it will remain a secret between him and Allah, his Creator , if he chooses not to reveal it.
Visiting the Prophet s.a.w. is an unforgettable spiritual experience, reenacting all the hardship that he went thro in the early days will make your heart sink, tears will flow freely in sympathy...he brought lights to all being s in the world, ALLAHumma Solli Ala Muhammad.
If we love him, adhere to his teachings... all in totality.
Wassalam.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.

In his opening address he said,

“We can’t keep Muslims from going to mosque.”
“We can’t keep them from reading their Quran & knowing the truth.”
“We can’t even keep them from an intimate relationship with their Allah & his messenger Muhammad (pbuh).”
Once they gain that connection with Allah, our power over them is broken.”
So let them go to their Mosques; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don’t have time to develop a relationship with Allah & his messenger Muhammad (pbuh).”

“This is what I want you to do,” said the devil:

Distract them from gaining hold of their Allah and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!

“How shall we do this?” his demons shouted.

“Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life & invent innumerable schemes
To occupy their minds,” he answered.
“Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, & borrow, borrow, borrow.”
“Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours & the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles.”
“Keep them from spending time with their children.”
“As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressure of work!”
“Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice.”
“Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive.” “To keep the TV, VCR, CDs & their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store & restaurant in the world plays music constantly.”
“This will jam their minds & break that union with Allah & his Messenger (pbuh).”
“Fill the coffee tables with magazines & newspapers.”
“Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day.”
“Invade their driving moments with billboards.”
“Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogues, sweepstakes, &every kind of newsletter & promotional offering free products, services & false hopes.”
“Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines & TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what’s important, & they’ll become dissatisfied with their wives.”
“Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night.”
Give them headaches too!
“If they don’t give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere.”
“That will fragment their families quickly!”
“Give them story books to distract them from teaching children the real meaning of Salat.”
“Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on Allah’s creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts & movies instead. “Keep them busy, busy, busy!”
“And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip & small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences.”
“Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Allah.”
Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health & family for the good of the cause.”

“It will work!” “It will work!”
It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Muslims everywhere to get busier & more rushed, going here & there.
Having little time for their Allah or their families.
Having no time to tell others about the power of Allah & his messenger Muhammad to change lives.
I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

YOU BE THE JUDGE!!!!

Does BUSY MEAN:
B-EING
U-NDER
S-ATAN’s
Y- OKE?

All praises and thanks be to Allah, Lord of everything that exists. The most Gracious, the Most Merciful.Master of the Day of Judgment You (alone) we worship, and You (alone) we ask for help.Guide us to the Straight Way The Way of of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor those who went astray. TO SOMEONE YOU CARE ABOUT

bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

jom mulakan lagi siasatan demi siasatan..

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY ..

[Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins ]

1.. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

Mouth Cancer

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

WHAT CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b.. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells are being starved.

Thyroid

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

Stomach cancer

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes t o nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells.

To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water--best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor.

Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

Hina orang lain seperti caci diri sendiri

To work or study !

Salam,

Correct me if I am wrong, career guidance during our school days are not abundant as at present. Most rely on info from word of mouth of your peer, our teachers yes they did give some advise, but the rest is up to you to dig from other sources. But the irony of it is what you uttered spontaneously as your choice or field of interest to further your studies is the one that materialises. Trust your first instinct ?

Some opted not to continue their studies, instead start looking for jobs immediately. It depends on one's priority during that time. Nearly landed myself a job too. Otherwise it could've been the retired .............in the Police Force. ha..ha..ha...

Allah knows better.

Of Coconut Trees and Weddings

We often attend wedding invitations of our friends or relatives. Ever noticed the diferences between the present and yester years ? yes ! privatisation vs gotong royong [gr]...(cooperative method) of wedding celebrations.

The choice of method is related to various factors for example : financial status, space availability, the community in situ, among others.

Let's preview briefly the gotong royong method of holding wedding ceremonies.
The young and the energetics would perform the hardcore jobs like establishing make shift tents(bangsal), cooking avenues, including preparing the coconut milk in large quantities using the traditional method (back then we don't have any coconut grinder yet) using the coconut scraper (kukur kelapa) that is being kept in every household. As kids, some would ride at the back of their mom on this scraper thinking of going someplaces on horseback...!!

The elderly would combine all their resourceful talents into practice like who will cook, who will prepare the raw materials, who will do the washing, etc.

Plucking the coconut from 'Malayan Tall' variety is a highly skilled job. In those days, you can always call the official 'coconut climbers'. They have special knives if you could remember. Dominated by one ethnic, no point mentioning. No wonder the price of coconut is going up and down.....pay him to climb up, and come down.

That's one method, the other one is by using monkeys (the bigger one - pig-tailed monkey and in Malay called beruk). This profession is dominated by another ethnicity...? This you've got to be carefull, you know these monkeys have their off days too...and if you are the owner of the monkey make sure it rides in front of the bicycle, not at the back.

If your name is (xxx) and the monkey sits in front of your bicycle, they will call 'beruk (xxx)', if sitting at the back, then you had it...they call you '(xxx) beruk'....and if you have one in front and one at the back, then it will be 'beruk (xxx) beruk'... the option is yours..( I'm not putting any name here, choose your own).

Remove Class/Foundation Class to CSKK

Nothing much can be extracted from the primary school years. Since the Special Malay Class is in English Medium, you need to repeat year 4 again , losing a year there. Time is lost to travelling to and fro from your house to school. Once the school had an afternoon session, but not for long. You see..some need to travel 1o miles per trip x 2 that will be 20 miles daily, and the school bus.....oh sometimes stranded on the way.

The other option is to travel via the normal bus, walking approximately one mile to reach the station. Quite often we slipped in thro the broken fence of MCKK to take a short cut and 'happily' chased by the gardener....!! if I could retaliate then..

After completing std 6, then off to CSKK in 1965 until 1969, the arch rival of MCKK as what they had been telling, yes true to a certain extent.

Secondary school is where you begin to develop your character and formulate your ambition. Needless to say everything were stuffed into your throat including "treasure Island', 'Robinson Cruisoe' among others that contributes nothing to your character building as a Muslim !!

Some guys got lucky with the - all girl's school (GEGS) of Bukit Residen, managed to strike a few chords with them. Of course the girls preferred the MCKK guys. Some resort to a very unorthodox method of mass circulation of adresses, writing on pieces of papers and letting the winds doing their job, hoping to be picked up by someone.

Then came the School Certificate syndicated with MCE examination in 1969. Most were separated after this exam for as long as 30 years, until being reunited again by the effort of some classmates organizing a few gatherings. Thanks for the effort .

A few had gone.....Al Fatihah..

A true story to touch your soul - Inshallah

This came from a friend via e-mail (credit to the sender)

Every Friday afternoon, after the Jumma prayers, the Imam and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out "PATH TO PARADISE" and other Islamic literature.

This particular and fortunate Friday afternoon, as the time came for the Imam and his son to go to the streets with their booklets, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring rain. The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said, 'OK, dad, I'm ready!'

His dad asked, 'Ready for what' 'Dad, it's time we go out and distribute these Islamic books.' Dad responds, 'Son, it's very cold outside and it's pouring rain.' The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking, 'But Dad, aren't people still going to hell, even though it's raining?'

Dad answers, 'Son, I am not going out in this weather. ' Despondently, the boy asks, 'Dad, can I go Please' His father hesitated for a moment then said, 'Son, you can go. Here are the booklets. Be careful son.' 'Thanks, Dad!' And with that, he was off and out into the rain.

This eleven year old boy walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody he met in the street a pamphlet or a booklet. After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone- chilled wet and down to his VERY LAST BOOKLET.

He stopped on a corner and looked for someone to hand a booklet to, but the streets were totally deserted. Then he turned toward the first home he saw and started up the sidewalk to the front door and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but nobody answered.. He rang it again and again, but still no one answered. He waited but still no answer. Finally, he turned to leave, but something stopped him. Again, he turned to the door and rang the bell and knocked loudly on the door with his fist. He waited, something holding him there on the front porch! He rang again and this time the door slowly opened.

The Second Phase

2. The Primary School Years (1957 - 1964)

I believe Every SMCians would have their own tall stories to tell as they started the journey to professorship, datukship, aah... whatever ship...., as each of us stepped into the classroom of Standard 1, wherever it might be. The town scenario would be different I believe. I would'nt know the scenario in Padang Rengas, Kuala Kangsar, Talang , Manong ? Sayong ? Grik ?

Just a little flashback, my first school was shared with a Religous School. We attended the morning session. The afternoon belongs to the Religous School. How thoughtful of those people !!! So if you are talking about a dual school, nothing new. As usual walking would be the mode of transport, rain or shine. This is the first school that I mentioned although the picture dated 1976, it's the same school, using the ground floor.

Believe it or not, the first memory chip was invented during this time. Every Student had to use the Flinstone's like slabs (papan batu) to write on...after each subject, whatever memory on that slab is deleted. So your brain is the main disc, and that slab is the memory chip...
and what else do they teach.....singing, not the zikr but something else...I remembered the first verse, it goes like this "oh rama-rama kau sungguh cantik..." (bad sector on hardisk, couldn't remember the rest).

It should've been the Asmaul Husna !!

Before proceeding any further let's take a break : In memory of our Prophet SAW, his family and friends, our parents, our teachers, our friends, that had been called earlier....Al-Fatihah.

Students respected their teachers far from we observed today...and teachers too you know...can at will punish any student or all students to decipline them as in this typical case.

The class was given the task of collecting litters/garbage in the school field. Somehow or rather a few pieces still lying here and there not being picked up. When the teacher inspected surely not to his satisfaction, lined up the whole class and slapped everyone...what do you think he is trying to instill ?

"kebersihan separuh dari iman"

Abu Malik at-Ash'ari reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: cleanliness is half of faith and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fills the scale, and Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fill upwhat is between the heavens and the earth, and prayer is a light, and charity is proof (of one's faith) and endurance is a brightness and the Holy Qur'an is a proof on your behalf or against you. All men go out early in the morning and sell themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves. (Book #002, Hadith #0432) - Sahih Muslim.

InsyaAllah, will be continued..

Why this blog is created

Salam, to all my SMC friends that eventually became cliffordians69 batch.

Why this blog is created ? This will be answered as we go along..

I'm not actually representing all Cliffordians of the year 1969, but specifically for my own classmates that originated from SMC classes, finally forming the core of Clifordians 1969 Science stream students. Taking SC/MCE exams in the year 1969.

Neither would I be talking about myself all along, but due to inadequate info on all matters, I would rely solely on my childhood experiences, generalised into an opinion that will relate the past, the present, and the future. Whoever is reading doesn't matter. My mission is to deliver what is supposed to be delivered.

I would also link a blog created by Saparudin Hj Shaari to complement each other at this adress if all members agree :

Members of cliffordians 1969 can contribute anything but nothing obscene please, or better still if you have a blog of your own then it would be great to be linked with each other. Otherwise, you could post your article to me using e-mail so that I can publish it via this blog/Saparudin's blog OR you can leave your comment at the bottom of each article written.

1. The Preschool Years (1951 - 1956)

Very few rich people in those days. Most kampung people like me found it difficult but not to the extent of having one meal/day. Truly living with basic necessities, walking barefooted most of the times (who needs foot reflexology at that time ?)
However looking at a verse from the Quran, it is the will of Allah :

Dan demikianlah Kami uji sebahagian dari mereka (yang kaya raya) dengan sebahagian yang lain (yang fakir miskin); lalu orang-orang yang kaya itu berkata (kepada orang-orang fakir miskin yang beriman): Inikah orang-orangnya yang telah dikurniakan nikmat oleh Allah kepada mereka di antara kami? (Allah berfirman): Bukankah Allah lebih mengetahui akan orang-orang yang bersyukur?
( سورة الأنعام , Al-Anaam, Chapter #6, Verse #53)

Dan dari satu hadis :

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet SAW said, "The poor person is not the one who asks a morsel or two (of meals) from the others, but the poor is the one who has nothing and is ashamed to beg from others." (Book #24, Hadith #554)

http://www.searchtruth.com

The major mode of transport in the village is 'walking' and by using bicycles. All the healthy people at that time....., diabetis, heart disease, kidney trouble, among others are unheard of. Most died due to old age. Cycling a few miles daily is just like riding motorcycles as of now. Normally by 9 pm, you are already in another dimension with sweet dreams...far from the influence of the idiot box, bad hats.

  • no electricity
  • no pipe water
  • radio - yes for those who can manage.
See no evil, Hear no evil !!!

...will be continued.
